Man Utd inch ahead of Real Madrid, Barcelona for top LaLiga full-back

Manchester United are reported to have nudged ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race to sign Real Sociedad right-back Alvaro Odriozola.
Jose Mourinho is in the hunt for new defensive recruits this summer, with centre back seemingly his top priority amid some worrying displays from both Phil Jones and Chris Smalling recently, while Victor Lindelof has failed to convince when given a chance to shine.

But the United boss is also understood to be weighing up his full-back options and with Matteo Darmian tipped to join Juventus at the end of the season – the former Torino man was pictured in Turin ahead of an expected return to Italian football recently – Mourinho is on the hunt for replacements.

And after The Sun claimed United sent scouts to watch the highly-rated 21-year-old play against Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League last Thursday, it’s now suggested the club are ready to make their move.

Odriozola, a Spain Under-21 international, is rated at around the £20million brac…

Liverpool to open talks with star man Salah over new deal

Liverpool are set to offer star winger Mohamed Salah a new deal, and have reportedly received encouraging signs.
The 25-year-old moved to Anfield from Roma for £34million last summer and has been an instant success, scoring 31 goals in all competitions.

Real Madrid have been linked with a big-money summer swoop for the Egypt international as president Florentino Perez eyes a squad overhaul.

However, IndyKaila claims that Liverpool will offer the Egypt international a bumper new deal in order to make sure they keep their star man.

It is also claimed that Salah is ‘very happy’ with the club and would be willing to sign a new deal, suggesting negotiations could be concluded fairly swiftly.

“Liverpool to start new contract talks with Mo Salah. The player is very happy at Anfield & is ready to sign a new contract,” IndyKaila tweeted.

Salah could potentially be one of three Liverpool stars to sign new deals, with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane tipped to extend.

Christian Eriksen agent opens up on Man Utd, Barca, Juve links

Christian Eriksen’s agent has failed to deny claims his client would be tempted to leave Tottenham for one of Europe’s super-powers, claiming the talk is “a huge compliment”.
The Denmark star has enjoyed arguably his best season yet in a Tottenham shirt, with the club well placed to seal a Champions League quarter-final place after a 2-2 first-leg fightback in their last-16 tie with Juventus.

But Tottenham have shown with the likes of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric in the past that they cannot always keep their top stars and Eriksen has recently seen himself linked with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United.

But rather than bat away the interest, the Danish international’s agent Martin Schoots insisted stories about his client moving to one of Europe’s elite prove he is one the top players around.

“I don’t comment on rumours much,” he told Danish new outlet BT.

“But when clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United are mentioned, it’s always a co…

Euro Paper Talk: Barca eye Spurs star amid Umtiti claim; PSG’s €322m swap

Barcelona are ready to turn to a Tottenham star to replace Samuel Umtiti amid claims he could be set to join Man Utd, while PSG are plotting a sensational €322m swap deal, according to Monday’s European papers.
BARCELONA EYE ALDERWEIRELD AS POTENTIAL UMTITI REPLACEMENT Barcelona are reportedly plotting a move to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham amid growing claims that Manchester United could trigger a deal to sign Samuel Umtiti.

The giant French defender has been locked in talks with Barcelona over a new deal, but his existing contract makes him vulnerable to poachers given it only contains a £53m release clause.

And Don Balon have once again claimed on Monday that United are looking to exploit that this summer and bring Umtiti to Old Trafford and pair him up with Eric Bailly in a no-nonsense central defensive partnership.

However, it’s also claimed Barcelona are themselves considering a summer swoop for Tottenham’s Alderweireld as Umtiti’s replacement.

Man Utd ready to trigger Serie A hitman’s £97m release clause

Manchester United are reportedly ready to trigger Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi’s £97million release clause this summer.
The 25-year-old has been in excellent form for the Italian giants this season, notching 18 goals in Serie A, but there have been strong rumours that he could be tempted to move on at the end of the season.

Italian paper Corriere dello Sport reports that Inter are hoping to move quickly to sign Icardi to a new deal but that negotiations have so far been slow and that has prompted United, amongst others, to try and sign the prolific star.

Jose Mourinho will have a battle on his hands to land the Argentine, however, as both Real Madrid and PSG are also firm admirers of the player.

Real are looking for fresh attacking talent as they look to revamp their squad this summer, while PSG are hoping to replace the aging Edinson Cavani with Icardi.

However, a report in The Sun on Monday claims that United are ready to strike the first blow in their bid to bring in Icardi.
